As many of us are taking stock of the last 14 months and looking to brighter days ahead, the team at the Mac Unit are looking to the next few months and making tentative plans around events and activities with a real hope in our hearts that we will be able to see all of you again soon.
It’s been such a difficult time and many are understandably concerned about returning to social contact and larger groups. We would be so interested to hear from you, our valued supporters, about how you feel and if you are keen to start taking part in events again or continue with virtual challenges and activities for now. There will be an opportunity to answer some questions around this soon but if you would like to express how you feel, please drop us an email. We can’t wait to see all your faces again but we want to make sure that you are ready to see all of us too!
Lots of you are out there doing amazing things already to raise awareness and funds for the Mac Unit and we are so grateful. Our long term supporters, The Diamond Divas, are unable to perform their usual concerts at the moment but that didn’t stop them getting out in the sunshine together over the May Bank Holiday weekend and raising £445.00 for us through a plant sale. All the Diva’s are eager to get back to what they do best but wanted to get together now whilst they can and share a bit of joy with passers-by. Paul Kennedy-Magee raised a fantastic £2,255 through his 12-hour non-stop walkathon. Hannah Jones walked from Corfe to Southbourne with her family and raised £945. Steph Palmer has signed up to do a wing walk in a few weeks and has already raised £1,500…. do you fancy an exhilarating wing walk yourself?? There are lots of other wonderful challenges taking place in the coming weeks including a golf day, a cycling challenge, a sky dive and the 3 Peaks challenge – we are really looking forward to hearing about how all of you get on and thank you so much for your support! Don’t forget to send us some photos!
Please do keep an eye on our social media pages where you will read about any events and activities that you may want to get involved with as well as keeping you informed about our plans for the future and any developments with the new build. As ever, your commitment to supporting the Mac Unit is humbling and we cannot thank you enough.
Until next time….
